One could think of a PDA as a smartphone without the phone capabilities. In example, the former iPod touch© from Apple would be considered as a PDA. This may seem strange to have a PDA, but let’s look at 2 reasons why might be valuable, and they both work in conjunction with your smartphone.
First, for media junkies, you know how watching videos, and listening to music can drain your phone’s battery. If you want your phone to last all day, you could use the PDA as a media player. If you run out of power on the PDA, you can still use your phone to make calls, and handle IM services, and email.
The second is a second screen. You might be communicating with someone, and you would need to keep an app open while looking for other information. You can use the PDA to look up that information, and reply to the person with the knowledge needed.
