For those that want a more basic experience, or concerned about Google having so much access to your Android phone, there will be a KaiOS phone made available. Unlike the Android phones, there is no touchscreen. Instead, there will be smaller LCD display, and a QWERTY keyboard. The design of the phone will be similar to the Blackberry Curve ©. Also, this phone is designed to be as low cost as possible – hopefully below the $150 mark. Therefore, only the important features that would extend the longevity of the phone. The phone will have the following:
- Low End CPU, 8GB of memory, 128GB of storage
- 4.5″ 4:3 aspect ratio screen, 8MP front camera, and 8MP rear camera
- removable 5000mAh battery, 2 nano-SIM slot, micro-SD slot with up to 1TB support
- 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5 support, Wifi-6, LTE cellular
- USB-C charging and data
- QWERTY keyboard, SMS support, no RCS support
- Power, volume keys
With KaiOS, there will be support for SMS and MMS. There will also be email support. With LTE support, while not the latest and greatest, it is sufficient enough for this lower end phone – giving a means of communication. With 2 nano-SIM slots, one line can be personal, and one line business. This phone in the end is designed for someone that wants something very affordable, quality, and functional.
